MY SON LEFT ME ALL ALONE ON MY 90TH BIRTHDAY – I SPENT IT ALONE UNTIL THE DOORBELL RANG

""

My husband died a few years ago, and my son is all the family that I have. So, I was sure he would visit me at least for my 90th birthday! But as the hours passed, one by one, I realized I would be celebrating it all by myself…

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. It had been a while since I’d seen him, so this was the ultimate birthday gift! I wanted it more then anything in the world! I rushed to the door.

But when I got there, my heart sank to my stomach.

It was not my son.

It was Mary, my ex-daughter-in-law.

She hugged me with all her soul, handing me flowers, gifts! I couldn’t hold back my tears…

Me: Mary… you didn’t forget? You didn’t leave me…

Her: How could I, Patty? When my mom died, you held my hand, wiping my tears. You took me in and cared for me! You were always there. You will always be my family. Happy Birthday, my dear! But… where’s John?

Me: It doesn’t matter, sweetheart. He made his choice. Thank you for being my family and not leaving me alone.

It was the best birthday I’ve ever had
